Bas Broekhuizen (1975) studied History at the University of Amsterdam. From 2000 to 2008 he worked for the de Volkskrant, one of the leading broadsheets in The Netherlands, first as a web editor, later as the head of the video desk. In 2009 he started teaching courses in online journalism and digital storytelling at Leiden University. Since 2012 he is a lecturer and researcher in Journalism and Media at the University of Amsterdam. Bas is writing a PhD thesis on the effectiveness of interactive infographics. In addition, he freelances as a journalist, trainer and consultant.

    Thanks Fernanda! Nice way to present a timeline, but I’m not sure whether this design offers more overview or a better understanding than more conventional ones. I kind of like the template-based The New York Times timelines.
